DVD Bouncing Screensaver for Mac
Everyone waits for it to land exactly in the corner. Nap's Flip Clock does the DVD-logo bounce on your Mac, except the thing bouncing tells the time. It is running on this page.

The bounce, done properly
Straight lines, a clean reflection off each edge, and no drift in the angle over time. The corner is possible — the geometry allows it — and because the clock keeps moving all day, you have a real chance of catching it.
Two of Nap's screensavers travel that way. The Flip Clock drifts in a straight line, and the Football bounces off every edge while it slows down, which is the same idea with physics added.
Why a clock rather than a logo
A bouncing logo is a joke you get once. A bouncing clock is one you can actually use: glance up from across the room and the time is right there, on cards big enough to read. The cards turn over two stages at a time, so the movement is never just a slide.
Settings worth knowing
- Speed sets how fast it crosses the display.
- Size goes from a small travelling block to one that nearly fills the screen.
- Style changes the whole palette, on any of the backgrounds.
